Hey there, I’m Johanne Miali Maiwen Bazan! I was born on June 26, 2004, in Marseille, France, alongside my twin brother and older sister. My family’s journey led us from Marseille to Toulon when I was three and then across the ocean to Miami, Florida, when I turned ten. Miami opened a new world for me—I became fluent in English and attended exceptional bilingual schools. I’m currently in Madrid, Spain, pursuing my dreams at an American university. I’m eager to see where my life takes me and share my journey with you.

GOALS

I’m passionate about media production, especially documentary filmmaking, and I love being behind the camera. It’s such a wide and dynamic field, full of opportunities to tell stories in new ways, and I’m excited to keep learning from experiences around the world. I’m always open to new challenges and eager to grow my creativity and leadership by collaborating with people across different industries. I value feedback as a way to improve and aim to create supportive, inspiring environments wherever I work. Connecting with other creative minds pushes me to think differently and explore new ideas, which is what I love most about this journey.

PHOTOGRAPHY

My passion for photography began in high school when I received a disposable camera as a gift. The anticipation of seeing the developed photos fascinated me. As my interest grew, I upgraded to a digital camera and fell in love with capturing moments. Through practice and hands-on experience, I refined my skills and deepened my knowledge by taking multiple photography classes at the university and practicing on my own. I truly appreciate the ability to preserve special moments through images, and I’m excited to continue growing and learning in this art form.

VIDEOGRAPHY

My passion for videography began when my grandfather gifted me one of his old video cameras. I started filming my friends and quickly discovered a deep love for creating videos.

Platforms like TikTok have given me the opportunity to explore my creativity and share my work with a wider audience. Through continuous practice, I’ve developed strong editing skills and love crafting unique content. Filming, editing, and storytelling bring me immense joy and fulfillment.

As my passion grew, I launched a YouTube channel to showcase my work to the world. While I’ve already learned so much through personal experience, I’m eager to continue growing and refining my skills. Click the link below to explore my YouTube channel and see my creations!

DANCE

I started dancing at the age of six at Magdanse Studio in France before moving to Miami and training at Coconut Grove Ballet in the American Ballet Theatre (ABT). In eighth grade, I joined Trendz Dance Studio, where I spent 14 years exploring styles like jazz, ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, ballroom, and musical theater. I trained five to six days a week, competed annually, and won awards and scholarships at competitions like NRG, Tremaine, Danza, and Radix. As captain of my dance team, I led an exchange trip to France, managing their preparation and morale.

Dance taught me dedication, leadership, perseverance, and the importance of hard work. It helped me become organized, respectful, and creative while improving my musicality and ability to learn quickly. Dancing shaped my character and remains a passion that has greatly influenced who I am today.
